Strathtalus provides an excellent base for walkers interested in the Southern Upland Way or the West Highland Way. There are also a number of organised walks within Ayrshire and surrounding local areas.
The National Cycle Network is only 4 miles from Strathtalus Country Guest House crossing over the Carrick Hills to Crosshill. Wild-life and Bird-Watching in Ayrshire Wild-life is in abundance throughout Ayrshire. It is a haven for a huge population of many species. Strathtalus Country Guest House is set overlooking the Carrick Hills where you can often see deer running across the neighbouring golf course, or hawks, buzzards, herons in flight.

Strathtalus overlooks the Water of Girvan set at the foot of the Carrick Hills. Anglers have access to fresh water fishing on the Water of Girvan which provides catches of Salmon and Sea Trout. Sea fishing trips to the Ailsa Craig (pictured) are also available on request.
